Lego Embo - Star Wars Bounty Hunter

Updated on October 9, 2017

Who Is Embo?

Embo was a male bounty hunter from Kyuzo who was active throughout the Clone Wars. He was part of Sugi’s band of bounty hunters and features heavily in The Clone Wars animated series episode "Bounty Hunters".

Embo wore a large circular hat which he used as both a shield, when charging enemies, and a weapon, by throwing it like a frisbee; quite an original concept.

Wookiepedia tells us that Embo was also involved in the court of Jabba the Hutt during the time of the Clone Wars and gives a full description of his exploits in the "Bounty Hunters" episode; a video clip of this can be seen here.

Embo has quickly become a very popular character and featured briefly in a second Clone Wars episode, "Sphere of Influence". Given the popularity of this character he is likely to feature somewhere in the Star Wars universe again, perhaps we will see him alongside Jabba the Hutt in a future spin-off movie?

LEGO Embo Mini Figure

The LEGO Embo mini figure was released by Lego in late 2010/early 2011 as part of the Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship set and currently this is still the only LEGO set that this mini figure is included in. This character and set are both very popular making it a highly sought-after piece.

LEGO really did a great job in designing and producing this Embo mini figure and it is one of the most detailed Star Wars LEGOs that they have ever produced. The printed head, with its piercing yellow eyes, really captures the character's features and printing on the back of the head adds even more detail; the minifigure looks very much like the animated version of the character.

Both Embo's torso and legs have detailed printing on them which shows details such as armour, a medal and bandolier of ammunition as well as a belt, and even his hat is printed to match that which is seen in The Clone Wars animated series. Embo is further dressed in black epaulettes to increase his armoured appearance - there is so much detail in this mini figure.

The Embo LEGO mini figure comes armed with a dark grey bowcaster; this has become a highly sought-after Star Wars LEGO mini figure.

Lego Bounty Hunter Gunship

This Halo gunship, owned by the Bounty Hunter Sugi, is armed with laser cannons and blasters for going into battle with Clone Troopers, Jedi or whoever else the Bounty Hunters have been paid to fight. Embo, Sugi, Aurra Sing and Assassin droid capture and detain their prey in a holding cell designed for their captives in order to claim the bounties on their heads.

This is a really stylish Lego set, easy to build with only 389 pieces, many of which are large and easy to locate in the box, and makes use of an unusual and effective dark green and yellow colour scheme.

This vessel is not one that features heavily in the extended Star Wars universe but its stylishness and original look make it one that collectors will want to own and I can only see its demand increasing as it goes out of production.

This is an ideal set for play as it is quite strong and fans of The Clone Wars will love recreating bounty hunter missions and all Star Wars Lego enthusiasts will want to own the three new Lego bounty hunters mini figures.

Take a look at the video review of this set below. You can see all the details of the completed space ship as well as close-ups of the minifigures, including, of course, Embo.
